Spine Client - NNU-SYSTEM

A Non-BadgerNet Neonatal Care Record System

This Spine Client Type is specifically for non-BadgerNet stand-alone Neonatal care record system instances that want to write to and/or read from identified single child records in the BadgerNet platform.

It is assumed that each remote Spine Client System instance is a neonatal care record system instance that contains details of individual neonatal care episodes for babies being cared for by the healthcare practitioner(s) at that location.

For compatibility with the BadgerNet Child Record, it is also assumed that all BadgerNet Spine Client system instances are part of a defined BadgerNet Maternity Care Location. This is confirmed and recorded as part of the onboarding process for Spine Client System vendors.

Client system technical assumptions

In addition to a list of generic Client System technical requirements, the following additional assumptions/requirements are applied to Client Systems that have been assigned the NNU-SYSTEM Spine Client Type.

  • Each client system instance is assigned its own distinct BadgerNet Spine ClientID and an associated secret (string) that must not be shared between multiple system instances.

  • Each client system is linked to a single BadgerNet Care Location.

  • Each client system instance can and does maintain a detailed audit trail of all its own care record CRUD transactions.

  • The Client System can identify discrete child care records using child record keys:

    • National ID

    • Date of Birth

  • If the Client System wants to be informed of care record update events from the Spine, it must be able to either poll the Spine for update event messages on an ad-hoc basis or provide a web-hook URL endpoint that is always available.

BadgerNet Spine limitations for NNU-SYSTEM Client Systems

  • Clients of this type are permitted to only read and write single Child neonatal care episode details. No other BadgerNet Spine care episode types are available.

  • The patient data FHIR resources available will be limited to the data-set (Spine Record Filter) agreed for the participating Spine Project.
